Alan Armes

Lecturer in Film and Video Production

Alan Armes is a film & television Editor in Los Angeles, CA. Alan earned a BA in Art from Houghton College, NY with minors in Philosophy & Educational Ministries and then attended the LA Film Studies Center, one of the CCCU’s “Best Semester” programs. Involvement with LAFSC continued after graduation with a teaching assistant position, then Adjunct Faculty instructor, followed by alumni leadership. He and his wife Debbie have coordinated the alumni’s annual “Dead Poets Retreat” since 1999, and along with their four children have called Los Angeles home since 1997. They are members of New Life Burbank (PCA) where Alan has served as an elder since 2006.

Alan’s early years were filled with a variety of: Legos, comic books, musical training, stage productions, visual arts, and making short films with a team of friends. His recent editing credits include: History Channel’s “50 Years of Star Trek,” “Dish Nation,” “Fashion Police,” “Attack of the Show!” and Game Show Network’s “Idiotest.” You can also see his work on DVD bonus features for: “Cloverfield,” “Gattaca,” and seasons 1 & 2 of CBS’s “Jericho.” Alan is thrilled to bring his film/video production knowledge and experiences to the students of Providence, who are part of the next generation of visual storytellers.
