This Providence literature course takes a broad view of fantasy as a genre and incorporates ancient myth, medieval romance, fairy tales, epic fantasy, sword and sorcery, magical realism and newer sub-genres including urban fantasy. And Comic-con’s WonderCon in Los Angeles is the epicenter of the galaxy each year where fantasy is concerned.

According to Professor Reeves, fantasy literature provides remarkable insights into questions of personal transformation, language and reality, and the nature of the world. And one of the benefits of studying at Providence in Pasadena is being located so close to Los Angeles and Hollywood with unparalleled access to experience fantasy in action.
