Jan grew up in Michigan and was transplanted to California thirty years ago. She received her degree in Special Education and Liberal Studies from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego, CA.  She has been engaged in Christian education for 33 years as a teacher in both general and special education classrooms, and as principal. In 2013, she started an educational consulting business for schools and a practice in educational therapy. Jan’s husband, Roger, is the pastor of Life Christian Fellowship in Pasadena and they have three children, two of whom are teachers, while the third is completing his final year in college and heading for seminary. In anticipation of the upcoming school year, Jan says, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to share my passion for education and especially for the needs of exceptional learners at Providence!”
