Renowned author, scholar, and systematic theologian Dr. Richard C. Gamble served as keynote speaker
for this year’s Academic Conference. Gamble’s lecture, “Reformation and Revolution: John Calvin and Geneva,” o ered students unique insights into John Calvin’s early life and ministry, as well as how the Protestant Reformation transformed Genevan society.

In April, Providence Christian College
was approved as a full member in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), which allows the athletic programs to participate in postseason play. Full membership is given to schools who are able to show  nancial stability, accreditation, growing enrollment, retention, and a commitment to character-driven athletics.

solo exhibition, i Dream of You, at
Klowden Mann Gallery from December
2016-January 2017. The exhibition
received reviews in artscene and autre
and was a highlighted Los Angeles
exhibition in the San Francisco Art Quarterly (SFAQ).
Dr. Whitney gamBLe, assistant
professor of Biblical and Theological
studies, co-hosted three White Horse
Inn radio broadcasts in December 2016.
In January 2017, she published the
article “Why Doctrine Matters Now
More than Ever” in Modern
reformation. In February 2017, at the
Women in Theology Lecture Series at Westminster Seminary, Escondido, CA, she presented “The Westminster Assembly and the Challenges of Antinomianism.”
Dr. Lauren J. kim, interim assistant
professor of history, published two
academic articles on theological education
in the fall of 2016: “Student Preformation:
Thoughts and Issues in a Global Divinity
Program” in the Journal of Christian
Education & information technology and
“Sexual Violence: Ecclesiastical Awareness, Thoughts, and Discussion” in the torch trinity Journal. She also published “Counseling into the Evangelical Mainstream” during the winter of 2016. This past spring, she participated in three White Horse Inn radio broadcasts, which aired in May 2017.
Dr. Larry mumforD, adjunct professor
of music, had a performance of his choral
work Quietem presented by the Christian
Fellowship of Art Music Composers
(CFAMC) in their monthly series. In
addition, two of his published works for
woodwind quintet were included in
Convocation exercises last August, and a choral piece that premiered in New York City “On Ships That Sail” was included in a Chamber Singers concert in Glendale this past spring.
