Janelle Froehlich

Hailing from her hometown Benicia in Northern California, Janelle began with Providence Christian College as an Admissions Counselor in Fall 2018.  For more than a decade, Janelle has coached teens through the college application process in a private practice setting.  She is thrilled to empower teens in a new context–as an admissions counselor.

Janelle is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and specializes in adolescent and family counseling.  She has worked with various high school populations throughout San Gabriel Valley, implementing treatment plans for high school students, adolescent groups, and families on campus and in private practice settings. “The teen landscape is unique and I am passionate about meeting students where they’re at,” said Janelle.  She is currently in private practice in Pasadena, CA, and is a licensed supervisor.

Janelle discovered her passion for working with teens while collaborating with Young Life ministries. Transitioning from youth ministry to youth counseling, Janelle counseled students on-campus at Gabrielino High School.  She then founded the Youth Counseling Program at La Canada Presbyterian Church, where she collaborated closely with youth staff and provided services to many students in local and surrounding communities.  She continues to speak to youth groups in the area, and provide resources, support, and training for leaders in youth ministry.

Janelle completed her dual Masters in 2010, obtaining a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA.

Fun Fact: Janelle lives in Pasadena, CA with her husband, Josh Ault (who also happens to be the head golf coach at Providence Christian College!).  She is passionate about working in film and television, and continues to pursue an acting career in the entertainment industry.
