The Providence Christian College Chamber Singers will perform their annual Christmas concert on Friday, December 1st at 7:30 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Lake Avenue in Pasadena. The Christmas Concert is free and open to the public for the benefit of the community. The Chamber Singers are under the direction of Dr. Mark Hamilton.

The Chamber Singers at Crosspoint Church in Chino

The Chamber Singers are busy not only rehearsing for the upcoming concert, but they have also been getting out into the community. The group of roughly 20 singers were able to participate in the morning worship service at Crosspoint Church in Chino last Sunday and then stayed in Chino to head over to the Inland Christian Home, where they sang for residents of the senior living community.

Director Mark Hamilton stated, “We were thrilled to be able to share our music with the residents of Inland and to be able to spend some time with these precious senior saints. It’s so important to remember those in care facilities who may not hear regular choir music and to sing for and with them. It’s all a part of having Providence students serve our community and spread the joy of God’s word.”

This upcoming Sunday, the Chamber Singers will be heading to Artesia Christian Home in the afternoon, where they will again spend time singing for residents. Their next stop will be at First Chino United Reformed Church to participate in the evening service at 6:00 pm. All are welcome and a dessert social will be held in the lobby after the service.

The Chamber Singers have been in existence from the very beginning of the college. Providence benefits from several students each year who come from high schools with excellent choral and music programs, and the most elite of these students form the Chamber Singers. A small yet powerful ensemble of performers, the Chamber Singers perform in a number of churches, fine art nights, and in various concerts each season.
