Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach
Matt Wilson enters his first year as the Head Cross Country Coach. Matt began running at the age of 9 when his dad brought him along to run a 5k race and has been running ever since. He ran cross country and track at Ramstein American High School in Ramstein Germany, and throughout his college career at Wheaton College. He continues to run and often participates locally in the Mount Wilson race, the Mount Baldy Race to the Top, and the Catalina Half Marathon.
Matt’s goal for the Providence Cross Country program is to foster an encouraging and competitive environment where student athletes can challenge each other to perform to the best of their abilities. Matt has a BA in Communications from Wheaton College and an MA in Biblical Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. Outside of Providence, Matt works in the visual fx industry, where he is a compositor on film, television, and commercial work.
