Paula Orr

Adjunct Instructor of English and Communication Arts

Paula Sword Orr joined PCC in the spring as an adjunct professor, and is the curriculum coordinator for the English and Communication Concentration. A horse lover and foodie, she is a writer and professor living in Los Feliz (a Happy Valley), and grew up in a coal mining town in the Appalachian foothills. A former writer at the Austin-American Statesman and Mediabistro.com, Orr is at work on a memoir about hope and gives inspirational talks about living joyfully through limbo. She runs a monthly writing retreat and co-wrote a TV pilot, now in development with a Hollywood producer. She holds a BA in English Literature and Film Criticism from the University of Kentucky and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Antioch University Los Angeles.
