Patty Tsai

Though born on the east coast, Patty Tsai grew up in southern California. As a first generation Taiwanese American, she has had plenty of experience straddling two cultures and is very enthusiastic about Providence’s efforts to engage the various cultures in southern California.

Patty attended college at UC Berkeley and received her teaching credential and M.A. in Teaching from Azusa Pacific University. Having taught in the public school system, Patty sees the importance of incorporating a Christian worldview into teaching and learning.

When she can, Patty spends her time reading children’s novels, solving Sudoku puzzles, traveling, playing card and board games, watching action movies, and attending live entertainment events. She also attends Grace Presbyterian (PCA) in Yorba Linda.

Before coming to Providence, Patty taught for a couple of years in a public school, then spent 10 years as a teacher and administrator of a small Christian school that strongly supported home schoolers.

“Liberal arts is a conversation through which we obtain wisdom. True wisdom, then, founded in the fear and love of the Lord, engenders a desire for a deeper knowledge and love of one another, teaches us and aids us in forgiving and reconciling with one another and encourages us to explore together the limitless implications of our redeemed existence on this earth.”
